I Am Love

As a little boy I thought, is there really love?
For as I looked I saw no resemblance thereof.
I felt alone, though there were people all around.
Can I stay another day? Where is this love?
What can I say?

What is love? Where is love?
How can I know, to whom will it show?
Then a small voice deep inside my heart said,
"I am love"

Now I looked high and low, through many stars and shows,
to find this love, that I wanted to know.
I would find joy and peace for a while,
but it wouldn't fill the hole, of my Soul.
Would my heart ever smile?

My heart sunk so deep, that I couldn't even sleep.
I looked and searched for what I couldn't find.
But I can't quit now, I've come to far.
If someone out there would be so kind to tell me,
where could this love be?

What is Love? Where is Love?
How can I know and to whom will it show?
Then a voice deep inside my heart said,
"I am love"

Now as the years went by, I thought with a sigh,
maybe there is no love or peace as a dove.
But then I heard again that small still voice,
saying the same which I had heard often times before;
"I am love, I am love"

When I thought back to the search of my past,
That small still voice, was ever guiding my path.
I said, Lord is this you? He said,
"Yes Son, it is I, and I want you by my side"
So now I've found and now I know,
What God long ago, was trying to show;
"I AM LOVE "
