The Dry Lake
Driving down the Highway of Life,
I saw a lake all cold and dry.
Then I turned my wheel to see,
this sight that caught my eye.
I walked it's shores vast and long,
to know the wonders from whence it came.
Yet the lake I once knew,
was dry and barren without remains.
How could this be, oh Lord, I asked?
Why take Thou, the Water,
whereby all that live rely?
The Lord said, open thy mouth
speak to the dry lake,
then shall I send forth waters
to restore that which Satan take.
I thought, my Lord the Lake is vast and long,
and I am but one man, without a plan.
Question me not, but cast thy voice
upon the vast lake of your doubt.
That I may spring forth rivers,
of everlasting life, ending this drought.
Forever ending this unending drought.
